Go Sox!

So tonight is game 4 of the World Series. We decided that Caden needed to get dressed for the occasion. He is all smiles with dad at the beginning of the game. He made it for 1 hour, then it was bed time. You can't see it, but Caden has the same hat as Justin. On a funny note, we discovered Caden had food stuck in his fat rolls around his wrist. I have always been focused on keeping the neck rolls clean, I didn't know about the wrist rolls. Oops. He's clean now.

Little Seahawks fan

My cousin and his wife just had a little girl in August. Her name is Brooklyn and she is a doll.

Just thought I would share for those Anda fans out there. This is Aaron & Tabitha's baby. She also has red hair, but she has way more hair than Caden.

It's getting cold!

Well the temperature isn't fazing this guy. Even though he can't put his arms down, he is still warm. Thanks to Cousin Charlie for sending this coat our way. This by the way is a typical morning - Get this guy dressed and out the door to daycare, then Justin comes home and gets himself ready for work.

Halloween at Kindercare

Tonight was the Harvest Party at Kindercare and everyone got to dress up. We decided that it would be fun to bring Caden, even though we could only stay for 30 minutes since bedtime is 7pm. I put him in his jammies underneath in case he fell asleep on the way home. This is Caden as Winnie the Pooh as a honey bear.
This is the two of us - I am a Seahawks fan.... I know, real original. I will work on a better costume for Wednesday (that's right, we get to dress up at work!) Finally!

This is Caden with one of the Daycare directors. The other director dressed up as Catsup so they were Catsup & Mustard. Pretty fun.

Once Caden is old enough to trick or treat, Justin and I will have to find some good costumes to wear too! I know that there is a giant Leopard Costume out there that my dad used to wear. I am not sure if Justin will go for it. I guess we will have to find the costume first.

I can feed myself!

Here is a video of Caden feeding himself. It may not be that exciting for you, but we are thrilled this could lessen some of the work for us. Tonight's dinner consisted of really ripe banana and peach chunks. He loved it though!

Look what I can do mom!

Caden is very busy learning new tricks these days. His favorite new trick is to pull himself up to standing next to the couch. He also really likes this maraca, it's a little big for him, but he still likes to swing it around. First he crawls to the couch
Then he climbs up the couch.
Then he looks over to make sure you saw him. He is pretty proud of himself.
I am sure that he will be learning the stairs in the next few weeks. That is scary!

What's up with the Finnegans? LOTS!

I don't have any pictures to upload right now (too tired to get the camera), maybe later.

Caden has been sick and not sleeping very well. In fact he fell asleep on the way home from daycare yesterday and slept until 10:30pm. At that point he woke up and wanted to play. I was way too tired so Justin got to play. He went to sleep about 11pm and then woke up at 1 am screaming. I got up and fed him a bottle and then he slept until about 5am. He has a cough and doesn't sound good. We gave him a little bit of Tylenol but then learned (thanks mom) that we shouldn't do that it has been recalled. I explained we bought ours in AZ a while ago. It turns out the tylenol is recalled because people are overmedicating their kids, so Tylenol recalled the infant cough drops voluntarily.

Yesterday on my way to work, the rock chip finally gave way in my window. I go the rock chip when we moved to AZ and never had any problems. There are not rock chip people all over in Phoenix anxious to fix your windows either, so I ignored it. After moving back to Washington, my dad reminded me that it would be a good idea to get this fixed before it freezes or else my window might crack. Good idea dad, thanks. So 2 weeks ago I called our new farmers insurance agent and asked how to get it fixed. He added glass coverage for us and said just call the claim number and it's free. Good plan, except I got busy and forgot to call. Yesterday morning I put the insurance info in my purse so I could call while at work. Murphy's law - on my way to work - with my fog lights on and the heater blaring - I heard it crack. Yep, the rock chip had exploded and a giant crack in 2 directions went all the way across my window. Pretty scary while driving. Needless to say, I called Farmers ASAP and got my new window within 4 hours. It only cost me $100, and they replaced my wiper blades too (those were an extra $20) but well worth it. I cannot attach wiper blades to any vehicle I own. I have tried and they tend to fly off in use. Others have tried too (James Malone & sons, Justin, Dad, total strangers) Lets hope this $20 was well spent.

Another item of interest for those of you out there wondering - what's up with fireman Rick? Well, he was just deployed to California for the wildfires. That's right, he is driving a firetruck from Orcas to California. I am sure he arrived tonight, but once he gets there, they have to rest for a bit, then they are sent to the fire. He is thrilled to get to go, my mom on the other hand has been left with his new dog Samantha who apparently is eating everything. The dog actually ate the cover off my dad's book.

Jeannette and Matt are on a cruise that is supposed to land in San Diego tomorrow (Thursday). I am sure it will be re-routed due to the fires. The funny thing about this is they were scheduled to go on a cruise 5 days after Hurricaine Katrina. They couldn't go because the cruise was re-routed a few times, but it seems like the weather doesn't work for their cruise plans.

Speaking of Cruises - We are going on an Alaska Cruise in June. It will be a Gair family reunion (Justin's mom's side of the family). It should be an awesome trip and we are looking forward to it!

I think that is all for now, I will try and take some pictures and upload them soon, but no promises. I should have some halloween pics though.

Now that's a sandwich!

Today for lunch after swim class, we went for sandwiches. We went to Spokane's #1 sandwich shop for 2006! 2007 results are not in yet. As you can see the sandwiches are Meat, cheese, bread and some condiments. Apparently they don't use vegetables. You cannot order a veggie sandwich either. They also give you a bowl of popcorn to start with. Thanks Brenda for letting Caden try to eat the sandwich. It was almost as big as his head!!!!

Caden fell asleep on the walk back to the car. It was a lot of work trying to eat the sandwich! Oh yeah, and he graduated from Shrimp Kippers swim class too! What a day!

Give me a kiss Charlie!

Here in Spokane, Saturday nights have become very fun. They involve watching Charlie and Caden do tricks. Here you can hear all of us laughing at the latest tricks they are up to.

This is a video of Charlie giving kisses. As you can see he has a mind of his own, and if he doesn't want to do something, he says no. You can also see that he is still learning that the camera and the person are not the same thing.

Enjoy!

You can also see that the cousins are getting to know each other better each day.

What's new with Caden?

He is just full of new tricks! While I was in Sacramento last week, Justin took some bath time photos and also his newest trick - standing in the crib! What happened to sitting?

Hope you enjoy this little video of Caden. It is just him climbing on me. He is so active now and cannot sit still. This next video is more of the same. You can actually see him pull himself up to the ottoman.
