Caden meets Ashley & Nonnie

Janet and Ashley were here this last week. It was very hot - usually about 110 - 115 each day. We did a lot while they were here - We went to a picnic and a pool party, the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Ashley & Janet even babysat 2 days for us which made it easy for us and daycare.

I don't know who had more fun, Caden or Nonnie! We miss them and can't wait to see them again in August.

The Grand Canyon

The only picture that I took at the Grand Canyon was of Janet and Caden at the hotel room the next day. Way to go! Janet took pictures so I think she will send us some copies. Caden and Nonnie having fun at the hotel.

Office Picnic

While Ashley and Janet came to visit, we went to my boss's house for a pool party. He got a small pool for the babies. Caden really liked all the pictures on the side of the pool.

Justin decided to get in the pool with Caden, just so he could have lots of fun.
This is Caden meeting Trinity, she is 3 weeks older than Caden. Trinity is my boss Jerry's granddaughter.

Cute Kid!

Caden loves Carrots! So far he has had Carrots, Peas and Green beans and Carrots are always the favorite. Tonight he is going to have some sweet potatoes. We will see what happens.

This is him ready to crawl. He can push himself up and he kicks his legs around. I think we will see some crawling soon.

Eating vegetables!

For the last week we have been feeding Caden rice cereal. so far, that hasn't been a real hit. He didn't really know what was going on, and I made it thin so he wouldn't have this crazy new substance on a spoon. He wasn't too impressed with the rice cereal. So we moved on to carrots and rice cereal this week!

As you can see from this, carrots are a little better. We even got a smile. He does get excited when he is in the highchair. He hits the tray and calls out and smiles. Next week we will try peas. Don't worry, Caden has a special shirt for peas - but he can't wear it until he is in Washington - it's too hot here for it right now.

When we are on Orcas on 2 weeks, I hope that the food grinder comes out so someone can give him a banana..... (Grandma's goal).

Action! Roll over!

This is the action series! Caden rolled over on cue yesterday. I was able to snap some shots of all the action.
He's halfway there! His legs and feet do a lot of the work, but I know his abs are getting strong, he tries to sit up a lot. (once up, he tips)
He made it! On the belly with his head up! Next move - possibly a creep - which comes before a crawl.

Sprucing up!

Caden can push himself up now. This is him in his crib in his new favorite position - rolled over on his tummy with his head up.
That's right, the toilet is in the hallway. We are fixing things up and Justin had to remove the toilet to fix the floor. What an improvement the floor is now... I don't have an after picture, maybe next time. This is an action photo - no toilet - Justin is scraping the wax ring. Really a gross job and it smells bad too.
Tomorrow Justin will be doing this to our floor in the master bath. Can't wait for this to be done.

Caden meets Gwen!

Caden got to meet Gwen last week for the first time. Gwen's mom is Darcy, that I work with. Caden and Gwen are almost exactly 3 months apart which is perfect since our due dates were 12 weeks apart. At one point Caden reached out and held her hand.
This was as close as we could get to having both babies look at the camera.

It's official - we are moving!

Just to get everyone up to date, we are officially moving to Spokane. We are putting our house on the market - hopefully by 6/29 and we are moving north. Justin has a job lined up and I am working on one. Caden is just happy that he won't have to be here for the whole summer. So we are packing, cleaning and organizing. We had a garage sale yesterday and made $250.00, we also sold the pool table! Things are moving right along.

Justin's mom & sister are coming on Wednesday. They will be here for a week, and we are going to the grand canyon for a night. After that, we are going to Orcas for a week.

Caden news - he can roll over! This is great, it just makes the diaper changes that much harder.

Swimming

We took Caden swimming on memorial day at Kelli & Shawn's house. As you can see, the little nemo swim diaper is a little big for him, but will most likely fit in a week or two.
Caden really liked the pool for about 10 minutes. Then he got cold - probably because I had him in a onesie so he wouldn't get exposed to the sun. lesson learned - just stay in the shade because it's 90 degrees there, as opposed to 105 in the sun.

That's right, it was 107 yesterday. It was so hot and we were questioning if our ac was actually working. It says it is, but I am not too sure about it.

Well, it's off to the doctor. Caden will be getting more shots today. lucky him.
