Snow day?

In the last 24 hours we have gotten 11 inches of snow. It is unreal. The snow plow came to our complex at about 3pm today, but they just plow the road. Justin is the shoveler! As you can see, there is tons of snow. I am standing in front of the pile so you can see how high it is. This is what has been shoveled out of the driveway.

Caden got to stay inside during all of the shoveling and the snow, but he did go over to the window alot and let out some excited yells while watching the snow. There was a press conference this evening announcing that all city offices will be closed tomorrow because the roads are so bad. Not sure if this means that my office is closed. Also not sure if daycare is closed tomorrow either. We will be playing this by ear, but we could have a snow day!

Sick baby!

Caden was up all night for a few nights. Justin decided it would be easier to sleep on the pull out couch with Caden rather than get up every hour when he cried, so they got comfy. Justin was off on Thursday and Friday so he was on baby detail so I could sleep. I still woke up some, but got way more sleep than I did on Tuesday night (I slept in the recliner). the little guy is getting big, he is out of the little blue tub now and likes to stand up in the tub. He also throws all the toys in the tub before getting in. Today he almost fell into the tub, so we have to be even more careful about what he is doing. He can't be alone in the bathroom at all - he likes the toilet and is very interested in the toilet paper roll. He loves to pull all the TP off the roll as fast as he can.

Cousins that play together

Well, these are some pictures from last week, before the hand foot and mouth episode. Caden gave it to Charlie, so things are miserable at the Ring household right now. This is what the two little guys look like when they are both waiting for more cake! Caden got a cupcake at daycare, so we brought it home to share with Charlie. They both gobbled it down.
Later on, Jeannette came over after she was done working and assumed the bed rest position. As you can tell, this isn't too relaxing with a 26 pound kid sitting on top of your unborn kid in the belly. Oh yeah, and she must read lots of books while being squished! Only 7 weeks to go, hang in there!
The last picture is of Caden sitting in the lid to the legos and playing with one of the legos that he likes. He was pretty fascinated with it.

Watch the little guy climb up on the stool

Well, I have been telling everyone that Caden is active. Here is some footage of him climbing up on the foot stools and playing with the laundry. Enjoy the music, it's Caden's singing dog. He likes to dance to the songs, but it makes us a little crazy.

We spent a lot of today watching Caden climb on the couch and play with his toys. He is still a bit fussy sometimes and has learned how to signal when he wants to be up. His arms go straight up in the air, and that means... pick him up now!

As you can see, he is a busy boy. He really likes to unload the pans from the oven. Try stepping over him while cooking.... it's not easy!

Update for the week!

Well, I need to get some pictures up.... None today. We have had a wild week. Caden was sent home from Daycare on Tuesday with a fever and small bump on his tongue. By 6pm, it had progressed to many red dots around his face. On Wednesday, we tried to take him to the doctor, but they had made our appt for the next day. Caden had a red face so we kept him home and got him in to the doctor around 5pm. Guess what he had... hand foot & mouth disease! So he stayed home from daycare the rest of the week. He has little red bumps & sores in his mouth, around his mouth and on his hands. There is nothing they can do for him, so they suggested orajel on the pacifier. (good trick for teething too!) He is much better now, and we are able to get some sleep again.

We have reached a final agreement on the house front, and it looks like we will be moving forward on the sale. (the buyer's agent is a bit out there!)

Oh yeah, it also snowed about 6 inches tonight, and the snow removal company here at the townhouse has been fired, so that means... Justin has to shovel. (I am shoveling tonight, but he does it better!)

I think that's all the news here to report, but will try and get some pics up tomorrow.

Caden can climb!

There is definitely nothing safe in this house. Caden has figured out how to climb. He climbs on the couches, chairs and anything he can find. The other day he climbed on a stool and them jumped on to my sister who was resting on the couch as part of her bed rest. He actually launched himself onto her pregnant belly. We were all surprised when it happened, and concerned.

He also is getting 2 more teeth, for a total of 6 teeth now. It's funny how teeth change his facial expressions.

Last week he had a surprise at daycare... he got bit! another child bit him! He is okay, small bruise on his arm, but seems ok. They don't tell you who the biter was, I am sure it's so you don't hold a grudge against that child.

I am back at work tomorrow after being out for a week and a half. I know that I will be very busy this week, but that's what happens when you are out.

The house update is that the home inspection was today, and we haven't heard anything yet. Closing is still set for 2/27. Lets hope things move along as planned.

Good news!

We got and offer on the house and have come to an agreement. We have a closing date of February 27. So, as long as we do not have any problems or glitches, we should have our house officially sold by then. Keep your fingers crossed!!!!!!

It's only been 7 1/2 months, so we are thrilled.

I am still in Seattle, but will be back on Thursday.

Paul and Rena, if you are reading this... enjoy!

Update for the week

Sorry no pictures this week. I am in Seattle attending a conference this week. It is a great conference - PCMA's Annual meeting. I am doing lots of networking and am connecting with many people that I have worked with in the past. I even ran into a meeting planner I worked with 6 years ago. It is truly fun and educational.

I am missing my husband and baby, but know they are doing well. My mom and Aunt Ginger are in town taking care of Caden when Justin is at work, so all is well with them.

Our other update is that we got an offer on our house. That's right, it is still for sale (It's been 7 months). The offer is no where near what we wanted, expected or hoped for, but that is the way it goes. We submitted out counter offer, so we will see what happens from hear. We should know something tomorrow, so I could have another update to post on Wednesday. We will see. Please keep your fingers crossed and think positive thoughts for us!

All right, it's off to bed so I can be ready to network and learn all day tomorrow!

This is one busy boy!

Sunday was exhausting for me. I spent a lot of the day crawling around on the floor chasing Caden around and playing with all his toys with him. He is a climber now too. As you can see, he is turning into a little boy, no longer a baby.
He has a new truck that he can ride and push around that makes noise. It also has a scoop in front that he can move up and down, so he likes that too. I don't have a picture, but he also really likes the dog beds. He will jump into them head first.
Speaking of head first, Caden has discovered that if he can't reach a toy from where he is standing, that it's easier to jump in head first to the toys. He did this about 6 times on Sunday. He only cried once. The toy he is always going after is the "little people airplane" that Justin's mom gave him. He really likes it! In addition to going head first into the toys, he is trying to go head first down the stairs. We now have to keep the baby gate up all day long.

He also figured out how to climb into this rocking chair and sit all by himself. What a tricky little guy. He also has discovered our wine rack and will crawl under the kitchen table, to the wine rack, and start pulling out the bottles.

It's official, we are legends!

We already knew in our own minds that we were awesome, but others are catching on... To start off the new year, we were featured in the Home section of the local paper today. That's right, we are the first family of the year. Prepare to be dazzled by our quotes. Matt Ring even got a shout out. Click on the link to be amazed, we are stars.

We are starting the year off with our own little rose bowl party. we have mini buffet with snacks and treats all set up for our eating pleasure.

Don't worry, we have a veggie tray too, It was still in the car. (Our fridge is full and it's freezing outside, so the veggies are frozen too!)
Justin is delighted that the Patriots finished the season 16-0. That is the second time that a team has gone undefeated for a season. The only other team was the 1972 Miami Dolphins, and that was a 14 game season. Pretty impressive.
Our dogs still love to sleep in the same dog bed together. They can right now since Caden is napping. If Caden was awake, they move to high ground to stay safe.
This is me - still looking sleep deprived, but with a new hair cut. Hopefully Caden can't pull my hair as much. It's also a more professional look, I am stepping it up! I am starting out the year with two trips in 6 weeks. I have a week in Seattle for a conference - lots of networking with meeting planners. Then I go to Washington DC for training and a tradeshow. I will miss Caden's first birthday (I get back late that night), but we are having a little birthday party for him. He won't know what's happening, but we are going to let him eat cake. I think Justin and I will be more excited, we will have survived the first year!
