Chicago sights

Well, I am at the end of my Chicago trip. I have had a tradeshow day, client lunch & dinner and a meeting. I am tired of living out of a suitcase and want to be home. It was a good trip, but ready for it to end. Well, our flight is tomorrow, so we had the afternoon free. We were able to take a tour of the city and see some sights. We had a beautiful day and it was a nice treat. Here are some pictures I took during the tour.

This is the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago. It is kitty corner from Portillo's - Home of the shaved beef sandwich, and across the street from a really cool looking McDonald's.

The next really cool landmark we saw was this sign at the theater. Why not see the Chicago sign when you are in Chicago? PS - I discovered if you want to see any show when you are in town, go to the visitors center by the water tower. They have discounted tickets for all shows. Good to know for next time.

Last picture for now - The Chicago River.

We also got to drive by the Hyatt Regency Chicago and the Big Bar, as well as Navy Pier and assorted other landmarks. We didn't get out at any of the stops, but it was fun to hear all the stories of the city.

We are staying at a hotel near O'hare. It was a bargain, courtesy of the tradeshow we attended, but I am seriously questioning why we are paying what we are for a rate. The customer service - Not good. It is frustrating when you are at a full service hotel, but they don't really give the service that you would expect. grrrrrrr.

This was the delicious dessert I had today at lunch. Yum!

After dssert, I sat in my hotel room and worked for about 7 hours straight... not real fun, but very productive.

Wedding festivities

Well, as most of you know, Ashley, Justin's sister is getting married. As I write this, she is now already married - yesterday was the big day! Justin and Caden got to Rhode Island on Monday and have already gone to a Pawsox game, met Lemon the Duck, walked around Newport and did a lot of errands. Justin got to walk Ashley down the aisle and Caden got to walk Noni down the aisle. Caden had his own suit and Justin wore a tux. Not to worry, we had lots of challenges getting the tux, the tux man lost the measurements, and didn't bother to tell anyone. Instead, every time Justin tried to get the tux, he got the run around..... Sheesh! But we finally got it at 11am on the day of the wedding and then things were good.

The wedding was wonderful, Ashley was a beautiful bride, and everyone had a good time!

This is Caden at the Tux shop while we waited. He thought the mannequins with half a body and no head were pretty cool.

This is after the wedding.

And this is a few days before when we went to get our manicures and pedicures.

It' been exciting! Now we are going to have a family fathers day barbecue tomorrow! Should be fun for all!

Dinner at the mall

Whoops, didn't realize I had this in the blog. Caden and I hit up the food court for dinner and some shopping on a Friday night when Justin had to work. This is Caden eating his pizza.
