Not trying to slack, but it's beyond my control

I am not trying to slack on the blog, it's just beyond my control right now. Our camera battery doesn't last very long right now, and apparently I am too cheap to buy another. So, I just have to charge it before I use it. Then it has no power to upload. Maybe tonight I will get some pics up. Until then, here is what is going on with us.

Caden had a great birthday party last weekend. Justin made a pirate ship cake and we had some friends over to celebrate. Caden had fun with all the little ones that came over. Cousin Charlie had to come later (like 10 minutes before the end of the party). He was sick.

Caden had his 2 year check up and is growing as he should. His weight was around 29 pounds and I don't know what his height was. I didn't take him to the doctor appt, Justin did.

Work is a bit stressful these days. 2 sales managers have been let go for not making their numbers. Thankfully right now I am making my numbers. But with that, I do not want to be missing any work if I can avoid it. Justin's job is slow going. With people tightening their belts on spending, surprise surprise, they are not going out to eat, which means, Justin works less.

Caden is still at Kindercare and really likes it. He is surprising us with all sorts of things. We don't know if we are teaching him things or kindercare or both. For instance, he knows his name and says Caden Finnegan. He also know many colors (red blue yellow green pink and purple) He does confuse some, but is learning. He also knows some letters thanks to his alphabet talking magnets. He knows "D" is for Dad, "M" is for Mom, "A" is for Annie and "Q" is for Quincy. He also likes to torment our dogs, which we are working on this since that is not nice.

Caden has a naughty spot if he is bad he gets a warning and if he does it again, he goes to the naughty spot. He hasn't been there in a while, so that is good. The doctor told Justin that his room cannot be a naughty spot. That is his safe haven. A little disappointing since Justin wanted to send him to his room when he is bad.

That's all to report for now. :)

Playtime with Caden & Charlie

Charlie & Annie (& Jeannette) called last week to see if they could come over & play. Matt (Jeannette's Hubby) is in grad school and has a night class. So I said come on over, let's play. Caden was thrilled to have them over. Caden & Charlie got out the shopping carts and chased each other all over the house. Charlie knew what store he was going to - Costco - how much money he had - $5 and what he would buy - croissant. Caden just ran around!

Caden doesn't just want to be in the picture, he now wants to take the picture too!
Below is Annie, just enjoying the show and drinking her bottle!

Gotta go, the bachelor is on now!

Happy birthday to us!

We got out the coloring mat last weekend that Caden got for Christmas from Nonie (Justin's mom). We had fun coloring on the mat and then tracing and punching out the shapes. This kept Caden entertained for about 5 minutes. Same as most activities we do. I hope this isn't a warning sign of ADD....
Caden is a wildman all the time. He was trying to run over Rocky possibly, or just laughing.

This is him eating birthday cake on mine & Justin's birthday. I guess the picture above is what happens if he eats sugar... Lesson learned!

This is Caden & I decorating the birthday cake. I wasn't going to make a cake, since I am trying to diet, but I decided to make it healthy and use cool whip for frosting, and a can of soda instead of the eggs & oil in the cake. Not too bad.

Caden had fun decorating. But he also stuck his fingers in it. What do you expect from someone that is almost 2

A bit of a slacker...

You are right, I have been slacking on the blog. We have had a restless and stressful month, but should be back on track. We are getting excited about Caden's birthday party. He will be 2 on Saturday! He is going to have a pirate party! The cake will be a pirate ship! Can't wait!

Caden is kid of the month at kindercare this month. So we sent some pictures of him to daycare for them to put on the bulletin board. More to follow on that later this week. ( I promise).

Chuck E Cheese - Tons of Fun

For those of you that don't know, Chuck E Cheese is a bit different from how it used to be. The ball pit is gone, there is not a wall of talking heads and it is now brightly lit.

Pete & Vanessa came to town for a late Christmas visit. They couldn't make it to the family christmas the week before due to snow, so they came after Christmas. We decided it would be fun to go to Chuck E Cheese. We were right, there was hardly anyone there. We had the place to ourselves.

When we got to our table, Chuck came over to say hi. Caden really liked him. Then we went on some rides - Bob the builder, barney, a fire truck....

We also played some skeeball, and it turns out I am the best out of Pete, my dad, & Caden. We had a lot of fun. Thanks for taking us mom & dad!

Sledding on Christmas with the dogs

Obviously this isn't us sledding. It's our yummy dessert - "the trifle" This is Justin's special dessert that we have on Christmas. It is delicious! As promised, here are some pictures of Caden being pulled in the sled by the dogs. They are not the greatest pictures, but you get the idea. That is my mom in the first one with him. She is wearing her new yak trax which are these snap on springs to help you walk in the ice & snow easier. We each got a pair and they are awesome!

As I said, this was the best I could do for a picture. We hooked the dogs up to the sled and they pulled Caden. Don't worry, everyone had fun, especialy the dogs. They don't love snow, but they don't have a choice. :)

Opening presents

Okay, I know that I am beautiful, see evidence below! :) Caden had fun opening his presents on Christmas morning. He really liked to tear the paper open. Here he is sitting on his new Diego Couch with all his presents. See Elmo and the hotwheels city. He also got playdough and a crayola coloring mat amongst other things. See the cookie in my hand, that's Caden's cookie, I am just holding it. :)

He was one happy little boy with all his presents.
