Well, the world is no longer safe... Caden can roll over and army crawl his way around. He doesn't know how to go long distance's yet, but he can definitely scoot himself to a toy, especially the yellow steering wheel that makes all sorts of noises. He really likes to pound on that toy, it's pretty funny to watch.
He still does not have a lot of hair, but is now eating stage 1 baby food. He has also figured out to open his mouth when the food comes towards him, but he likes to "help" me feed him by holding on to the spoon. Basically I am now bathing him every night directly after he eats.
He is also sleeping for much longer stretches. He goes to sleep around 8:30pm and then wakes up around 4:30am. I give him a bottle, get him dressed and ready for daycare, then he goes back to sleep until I wake him up at 6:15am to go to daycare. I have quite the routine for the mornings. It also now involves putting toys away. Lets hope I can keep this up and then I will have the cleanest house ever in Spokane.
A easy way to check in and see what we are up to here in Spokane. Not the most regular posts these days, but we are busy, what do you expect? Feel free to comment and let us know you are following us. Thanks for reading!

Caden's friend Joey
On Saturday, Caden went over to Joey's house to hang out, while I got a haircut. Angela watched Caden along with her son Joey who is about 1 month younger then Caden. I guess they napped at about the same times so it was not too chaotic. She is going for a repeat this Saturday, but for a much longer stretch since I have to work 11 -7, so that means she will have Caden about 10am - 8pm.
We were pretty proud that we got them to both look at the camera at the same time.

Visit to Seattle
It was definitely a happy and welcome reunion for us back in Seattle. Emily was kind enough to open her awesome apartment for us to meet up with everyone. Caden got to meet our friends from Seattle, and we finally go to see Emily's home.
Brent and Brian from the Hyatt came over, as you can see by the smiles, they were happy to be back together! Jessica & Julie took turns holding Caden. He did really well for the day, no tantrums and no major spit-up episodes.
Emily & Anne also took turns holding Caden. Emily is getting ready for her wedding which is Labor Day weekend, I am hoping that we will be there. It all depends on the house sale. I didn't get any pictures of Greg or Derek - Anne & Emily's other halfs, but they were there too, having tons of fun.
Sean even took a turn with Caden.
We had a crab and salmon feast. We brought the crab, and Roger (Emily's dad) caught a salmon in Alaska that he sent over. Brian made lamb burgers, using his recipe from when the Saudi prince was in town for 8 months. Pretty great meal for all of us.
The picture below is just an idea for what we were working with. The Xterra is filled to the gills. Brian had to sit on the dog bed in order to fit in the car. I had a box of Chips on my lap...What a day. We didn't get any pictures of it, but we stopped by my cousin's Pat & Debbi and had some breakfast in Bellingham. We had some blueberry coffee with them which was awesome and their house is amazing.
Can't wait till we are in Washington and we can have more fun roadtrips and weekends with friends.
Also - in case you didn't know, Justin is now in Spokane, and I hope to be there soon. Caden is in Phoenix with me, but will go to Spokane after our Rhode Island trip in August.

Visit to Orcas
We just got back from a week on Orcas with the family. I can assure you there were no "dull" moments, but I didn't come close to capturing them on film. These are some of the highlights. This is Ginger, Caden, Charlie, my mom and Quincie all hanging out in the morning at my mom's house. This was when we were getting ready for the pancake breakfast at the end of the week.
Here is a picture of me, Caden, Charlie and Jeannette. Oddly enough everyone is looking at the camera. The rocking chair that Caden is in, was a gift to me from my grandparents when I was a baby. Pretty great for being 30 years old.
You may see this one again as a Christmas card. It's the Finnegan family in the Orcas Island fire truck. On a side note, Justin got to help wash a fire truck with my dad on this trip. It was definitely a dream come true for him.
This is my dad with his 2 grandsons. Notice they are wearing matching Orcas Island Fire Dept Onesies. Thanks to Grandpa for those!

This picture sums up the week - The Crab hunt. Justin was the big winner in the crab contest - he caught 8 and my dad caught 3. That makes up for Justin having to buy the out of state license for crabbing at double the in-state price. Next year we can be in-state.
