Did you miss us?
We are virus free and I just installed Macafee which comes with our comcast service. Who is the dummy in all this... me. Should have loaded this when they offered, but of course I didn't think it was really free. It was. Lesson learned!
What's new?
I had a super long site visit last week, so 4 days of working late and not seeing the family. Caden and Justin went camping on Friday with my sister's family and her husband's extended family. It was a great campground with a swimming and picnic area too. Everyone had a good time. Unforturnately, Caden wakes up at 6am, and no one else does. Especially my sister's tent, so we had some discussion about future trips. We will not have our tents next to each other so that the rings and everyone else can sleep in.
When we got back from camping, Caden was being real fussy. He had 2 white marks on his tongue which I thought he maybe bit his tongue. After daycare on Monday, they said he was not himself. The director even said - could be foot & mouth disease. Well we already experienced that last year, so we went straight to the urgent care. It's just a virus. So Caden stayed home with me on Tuesday. Turns out he is also teething. He is drooling like there is no tomorrow. He went through 4 shirts during the day because of all the drool. The teeth aren't here yet, but he is definitely in pain!
Well I hope to take some pictures and post them tonight. Fingers crossed, but don't hold your breath.

Also, he can say no and shake his fingers at us. Pretty funny. :)

Weekly update
This weekend we are going to go to green bluff and get some fresh berries. We also may go to the splash pad and run through the sprinklers.
My dad was released from his fire duties last night at 4pm. When he finished, he drove up to see all the damage since his job kept him number crunching at the fire Headquarters in a middle school for the last week. He said it was pretty devastating. Some neighbors came out to thank him for his hardwork and taking the time out to do this.
Afterwards, we all had a family dinner at my sister's house. I am hoping she posts the picture of Caden and Charlie sitting in the flintstone car together soon. The boys played very nicely together in the yard. We both laughed about what a difference it was from last year.
You might catch some pics of Caden on the Ring family blog - that's my sister's blog.
Other news on the work front. I just booked a group for July 2013. That's right, I will have booked the first group for the city for 2013. I am waiting for the official paperwork next week, then I get to ring the gong at work to signal to all that I booked something. Pretty fun!

Spokane on fire!
No pictures as our computer is out of commission. Circuit city is working their magic as we speak. Fingers crossed they can just remove the virus and we are back in business!

Some cruise pictures
After our day trip to Sitka, Caden fell asleep in the back pack. I asked someone to take our picture. Justin, his mom, sister and others were out on a whale watch cruise - no pictures to show since I had the camera. They did see 1 humpback whale and lots of birds. While we were in Sitka, Caden & I and his great grandparents went shopping. (Great Grandpa waited outside for us) While we were in the 3rd shop, I got a little too close to a display case and Caden reached out to grab the trinkets. Lucky for us, they were wood carvings, and not crystal or it would have been an expensive day in Sitka.
This is just a picture of some scenery from the boat. The mountains were huge!
These are the killer whales I saw while Caden & Justin were napping. I was just sitting on a deck, reading my book when someone says, "I think I see Orca whales. But they are not killer whales. " Don't worry, I let them know that they are killer whales and that they were Orcas. I didn't even have to go on an official wildlife cruise to see this either!
Fun on the cruise ship
This is a snippit of what Caden likes to do - Repetition. He was entertained for about 5 minutes by moving Ashley & Chris's legs around. When you are 1 1/2, anything you can be in charge of for 5 minutes is pretty great. This was while we were waiting to get off the cruise ship. He also will pull your hands to take you somewhere when he wants to show you something. Today he pulled me to the door because he wanted to go outside. We put on our shoes and hit the deck to play with the bubble mower.
This is another video from the last day of the cruise. Caden was running back & forth between the seats and me. Ashley was keeping him entertained while we waited to get off the boat.
1 year old birthday party's
This last weekend, we went to another birthday party. Caden had lots of fun walking around the back yard. He took swim lessons with the birthday boy and I work with his mom too. Here we are with our party hats on. Amazingly enough, 3 kids have the hats on.
I just thought this was funny. One of the kids had brought the hulk hands. We put them on Caden but he didn't know what was going on. This older boy came chasing me with the hulk hands, I had to let him know I wasn't playing, his dad told him not to punch strangers. Whew!
Caden wearing the hat!
We hit the jackpot!
He is playing with the pop pop popper in this picture. simple toys that don't require batteries! It turns out they do exist. Just want to point out that is pretend cheese and pretend croissant on the ground. we don't let real food go to the ground if we can help it.
Caden is eating a big boy dinner off a plate. Note - spoon in hand!
this is just a typical afternoon, having some juice by the door, watching the dogs.
For anyone that is curious, Caden weighs 25.5 pounds now. He is 17 months old in a week. Today is 1 year since Justin left Arizona. (my 1 year is coming up mid august). Oh yeah, yes jeannette, I will be making multiple posts today after 3 weeks away.....
